Run4Kids, a 5 kilometer run/walk in Bayfield, Ontario, is organized by Virtual High School and the Bayfield Optimist Club each year. Last year’s event supported Memphis’ wish through Make-A-Wish® Southwestern Ontario.

Memphis is a nine-year-old boy from the Chatham-Kent area who lives with cystic fibrosis (CF). CF is a disease that mainly affects the digestive system and lungs. Individuals with CF suffer from ongoing lung infection and loss of lung function, which can be fatal. At present, there is no cure.

Memphis enjoys video games and building Lego in his spare time, but he also plays hockey and competes in triathlons. Memphis has a cat named Trader and a dog named Lightning. He chose a Caribbean Cruise as his Wish so that he could experience the greatest adventure of his life. He loves exploring and learning about history and culture, so as part of his wish, he naturally wanted to eat different kinds of food and try new things!

We are excited to share that Memphis’ Wish came true in early 2017. Thank you to everyone who supported Run4Kids 2016 to make this possible!
