Front-End Web Developer (Co-op)

Virtual High School is looking for a creative, innovative, and enthusiastic Junior Front-End Web Developer to join our Technical Team for the summer.

What Will I Be Doing?

As a Front-End Web Developer, your responsibilities may include:

  • Developing new static and interactive elements for our course design framework.
  • Creating and maintaining features in our proprietary content management system (CMS).
  • Creating and maintaining features in our proprietary Student Information System (SIS).
  • Collaborating with our academic, administrative, multi-media, and business operations teams to understand their needs and develop solutions.

What You’ll Bring to the Role:

  • Experience with front-end web development technologies (i.e. HTML, CSS, and JavaScript).
  • Experience with git for version control.
  • Experience with database management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • An eagerness to learn and take initiative.

Additional skills that are not required, but will be considered an asset are:

  • Experience working with web design frameworks like Vue, React, etc.
  • Experience with git repositories (e.g. GitHub, BitBucket, Azure DevOps, etc.).
  • Back-end development with systems like Amazon Web Services (AWS).

The Location:

This position requires the successful candidate to work at the VHS office in Bayfield.
