Upgrade/Repeat Courses: A Second Chance to Achieve Your Goals

With such competitive post-secondary admissions averages in Ontario, high school students are under great pressure to earn strong grades if they want to attend their preferred university or college program. This results in many bricks-and-mortar high school students finding themselves a few percentage grades below what is required for their post-secondary admission, and with few options to repeat a course at their school within the time frame they need to.
Does this scenario sound familiar? Don’t worry, we have a solution!
Upgrade/Repeat Courses are available year-round at VHS, allowing students to repeat a course at anytime with a reduced workload. Repeat Courses contain all of the same course content as the regular version of the course, except with a reduced assessment load. This means fewer or shorter assignments and tests depending on the course, allowing students to progress through the course more quickly. To be eligible to register for a repeat course, a student must have previously completed the same OSSD credit course with a passing grade.
Our repeat courses allow students a second opportunity to earn the grade they need in order to receive or maintain an offer of admission to a university or college.
What exactly differs in a repeat course?
As an example, here is a comparison of our regular MCR3U course and our MCR3U Upgrade/Repeat Course:
