An apple with its five chambers at its core grows seeds that hold tremendous potential. At Virtual High School teachers and administrative staff have, after lengthy discussion, focused on five traits that exemplify, not only what they expect to see in students, but also what they exemplify in themselves as they conduct the daily work of educating others. These five life skills serve students well and are an integral part of the learning offered by VHS. Such skills endure long after our students complete their work with us.

Responsibility means understanding one’s roles and duties and being accountable for what is required in order to achieve one’s goals.
Students at Virtual High School
- Develop key skills for success by using feedback to improve learning
- Work collaboratively with others, including the teacher and classmates
- Take initiative by planning ahead for deadlines
- Demonstrate accountability by showing an understanding of school processes
Virtual High School
- Provides engaging and appropriate lessons and assessments to maximize learning and prepare students for the future

Respect
Respect means treating others positively by demonstrating an awareness of their unique qualities as well as their roles, duties, and goals.
