How Does It Work?

Virtual High School (VHS) is a private, asynchronous, Ministry-inspected, online high school offering high-quality Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) credit courses. VHS offers over 70 courses from grades 9Ė12, all of which count towards the OSSD, just as courses do in bricks-and-mortar schools. Universities and colleges around the world recognize the OSSD credits issued by VHS.

Enrolment: Students may enrol any day of the year and begin their course(s) within 24 hours of registration. Students have up to 18 months to complete each course. This model allows students to work at their own pace and to create their own schedules. Students do not need the permission of their principals or other school officials in order to take courses with VHS.

Support: In addition to the support VHS provides with its qualified teachers, each course includes 24/7 access to unlimited, on-demand, online tutoring at no additional cost to students.

Final Exams: Students may finish their courses and write their proctored final exams online any day of the year from anywhere in the world.

Course Materials: All online course content and assessments exist within our secure learning environment. No textbooks are required.*

Communication: VHS will communicate with the studentís main school of registration throughout the course by sending them a letter of registration, a midterm report, and a final report. Upon request by the student, VHS will also send this information to the OUAC, OCAS, or post-secondary institutions. When the main school of registration receives the final report, the mark is added to the studentís Ontario Student Transcript, making VHS courses the perfect complement to any studentís secondary school education. Alternatively, students may enroll in VHS full-time and earn their entire OSSD online.

Academic Integrity: We maintain the highest academic standards for education in Ontario and have a firm commitment to academic integrity and honesty.
